Oatmeal Rum Raison Cookies


1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 lg. eggs
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
4 c. old fashioned rolled oats
3/4 c. raisins
1/4 c. spiced rum
1 c. chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Soak raisins in rum; set aside. Beat butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, beating well. Add soda, salt and flour to mixing bowl. Mix well. Add soaked raisins, oats and chopped pecans, stir these by hand. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets and bake at 325 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
