Peppered Sirloin Tips


2 tbsp. shortening
2 lb. sirloin tips, cubed)
1/3 c. burgundy wine
2 tbsp. light soy sauce
1 clove garlic
1/4 c. water
1/2 cup onions, chopped
1 green or red pepper sliced
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms, sliced
3 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. cornstarch
4 c. hot rice
1 can beef bouillon


Brown meat in shortening. Stir in bouillon, wine, soy, garlic and onion powder. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Saute onions, pepper, and mushrooms in butter while meat is simmering, until mushrooms are golden. Blend cornstarch and water. Stir into beef and add vegetables. Stir constantly until mixture thickens. Serve over hot rice.
