The change from Saturn in Libra to Saturn in Scorpio is a none too subtle one, bringing with it a doubling of intensity due to Pluto’s placement in Capricorn, culminating in what we call in the “astrobiz”, a mutual reception. Transcendence through discipline, austerity, as well as voluntary simplicity, implicit power and control, cruelty and torture, coercion via underworld activities, deep pain, victory after profound trial, valiant dedication and intrinsic, knowledge and talent are some of the descriptors of this energy. Know that people will not be swayed, even by reason. They have it in their mind that their belief is just and valid and no one will change their mind. Supreme good and despicable evil can manifest with this energy, especially in its mutually-recepted, dual form. Those who are skilled with sharp objects will be in demand. If knights in shining armor still traversed the earth, sword in hand upon their mighty steed, we would see one (or more) rise to distinction. On our current earthly plane, we will see surgeons, metalurgists, master carvers and woodworkers, butchers and anyone else skilled with a knife rise to prominence or notoriety. Those learning the aforementioned and upcoming trades will become noteworthy in their field at some future time, likely involving a Saturn/Pluto transit of some kind. Other fields and interests that are receiving this Saturn in Scorpio energy include geologists, engineers (especially mechanical engineers), architects, seamstresses, phlebotomists, firemen, welders, the dude manning the flamethrower, potters, torturers and sadists, chemists (bomb-makers), nuclear physicists, chemotherapy administers/oncologists and those delving into alchemy. Interesting group of folk eh? You have no idea… Those with the power to thwart those who believe in their very Souls that there can be a better life for themselves and their people will come forward to squelch uprisings. This is a good thing if the people are wreaking havoc for improper (avarice, evil power mongering, etc.) reasons. But for those who actually deserve a fu@$*ng break and who have lived under deviant and despotic control for far too long need to have someone loan them a flamethrower. This is an unbelievably potent energy signature my lovelies, and I am certainly not the lady to come to for sugar coating, as I have disclaimed many times. I try to find the bright side to things, IF there IS one. For instance: This is certainly not an energy of miracles, but it is one of overcoming adversity in the most astounding ways, mayhap involving divine intervention. Those who are adamant in their belief system are a force to be reckoned with, even if their belief system does not match our own. We can all surmise who is right in the grand scheme of things, but it really is irrelevant to those who are fighting for their rights (as they perceive them). Unfortunately, give them an inch and they WILL often take a mile. If that mile leads to your back door and they believe you should be converted to their belief system, well then, we have a problem Houston. At least you will at my back door. Herein lay the Crux of the matter. Sure, it is better to espouse peace, love and rock and roll. I’m all for it. But some people believe in beheading you for listening to music…(Reference: 17 beheaded in Afganistan for purportedly listening to music). Remember, be as mild as the lamb, but understand the world is full of wolves and we must be able to think like them. Please pray for our soldiers. “And the wheel in the sky keeps on turning…” Journey  The most potent energy change for the month of October occurs on the 30th, as Saturn moves into Libra until April and then it will move back into Virgo until July 2010 at which time Libra gets to hold his hand for the next couple of years. And a cold hand it is too. Libra is all about partnerships, legal issues, diplomacy, art, political correctness, vanity and things related to beautifying the person or the home. Libra is the sign of those who purvey goods, especially goods regarding health, beauty and art…they are excellent salespeople. Unfortunately, with Saturn entering this domain, diplomats, court clerks and such people who add little tangible value will find themselves at loose ends. We are in cost cutting mode wherever Saturn and Capricorn reside and the irrelevant fluff will have to go. Wearing lots of jewelry or spending money on spa treatments and superficial trappings are probably not going to be helpful to you. The “starving artists” of the world will be truly emaciated. All partnerships could undergo some hard times, but especially those which are only held together by a legally binding contract and have little else to show for their union. Your best friend may go through a really rough patch. Lawyers aren’t likely to be favored either. And Libra’s themselves? This is not a transit for the faint of heart. This is about toughening you up so you can continue on in your life stronger and on more stable footing. Saturn will pass over your sun at some point in the next couple of years…depending on what part of October you were born in. Early born Libras get wacked first. Saturn rules the diseases of old age, from hardening of the arteries to arthritis to osteoporosis and age spots. If you have had problems with your skin, bones, joints and teeth over the course of your life, Saturn will cause these problems to become more prominent. However, if you do the difficult stuff, like exercising and generally taking care of yourself already, you will probably not be bothered too much by Saturn’s visit. In fact, you will probably look and feel a lot better than your peers, much to their chagrin. Just remember, wherever Saturn visits, it calls for dependability, perseverance, hard work and a stalwart attitude. Just keep plugging away at the petulant parasites Saturn throws at you and you will come out way ahead by the time he leaves your sign.
